OUR STAFF

Meet

Riley Fitzgerald

Owner & Artistic Director

Riley is the Director of Divine Dance Center. She holds a degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Dance from Radford University. Her training includes work with professional instructors at Shenandoah University, Radford University, and various dance conventions.

Riley has choreographed the opening number for a National Dance Competition, and her students have earned numerous regional and national titles. Many of her former students have gone on to successful careers in the performing arts and are currently working with Disney Cruise Lines, NETworks Productions, and other professional theaters.

In addition to teaching, Riley is a sought-after judge for regional competitions throughout the East Coast. With an extensive background in dance, she brings a high level of professionalism to the studio, helping each student reach their goals.

Sammi Rader

Sammi Rader has been teaching dance for over 14 years. She holds a Master’s degree in Social Work from Radford University, where she also continued her dance training in Modern, Jazz, and Ballet.

As a choreographer, Sammi has received numerous accolades at both the regional and national levels. She was also a mentor and volunteer with the Dancing with the Valley Stars fundraiser, where she and her partner took home top honors.

Sammi’s dance background includes professional experience with the Roanoke Steam Arena Football Team and the Roanoke Dazzle NBA Developmental League. She also danced competitively throughout high school.

At Divine Dance Center, Sammi leads our Hip Hop program and teaches combo classes, jazz, and contemporary. She also choreographs for our competitive dance company. Beyond the studio, she serves as an Advisory Panel Member and Support Group Specialist for Youth Protection Advocates in Dance (YPAD), an organization dedicated to keeping kids happy, healthy, and safe in dance.

Angela Brickner

Angela holds a Master of Arts in Dance Education from New York University in New York City. She has served as the Dance Director at a private high school for six years and has over 12 years of experience teaching in private studio settings.

Angela brings a vibrant energy to the studio, and we’re thrilled to have her on our team! You’ll find her teaching many of our tap and jazz classes, as well as several of our Preschool and Super Combo classes.

Claudia Anderson

Claudia is a graduate of Radford University and an alumna of Divine Dance Center, where she was an accomplished, award-winning dancer. She has been teaching dance for eight years, and her choreography has received recognition at both the regional and national levels, earning choreography awards and top placements.

Outside the studio, Claudia works as the Special Event and Volunteer Coordinator at Blue Ridge PBS. She also shares life tips and tricks with children as a special friend of Pip the Fairy through Echo, a division of Blue Ridge PBS.

Claudia has a natural ability to connect with our younger dancers and brings energy, excitement, and creativity into every class.

Katherine Nettles

Katherine Nettles is a graduate of the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, where she earned her BFA in Dance. She is currently pursuing her Master of Fine Arts at Hollins University.

Katherine is passionate about helping dancers develop their artistry and refine their dynamics in a supportive, inspiring environment. Her goal is to help each student reach their fullest potential and grow their love for dance.

At Divine Dance Center, Katherine teaches our highest-level ballet classes, as well as pre-pointe and Pilates.

Amy Anderson

Amy Anderson joined Divine Dance Center in 2009 and currently serves as our Office Manager. She’s the first friendly face you’ll see when you walk through the studio doors.

Amy wears many hats—she handles payments, costume measuring and ordering, answers parent questions, and supports dancers during and between their classes. Her warmth and organization help keep everything running smoothly.

Outside the studio, Amy loves spending time with her family, traveling, and cheering on her favorite team—the South Carolina Gamecocks!
